Book Fair Finds

I am so lucky to live within an hour of the Green Valley Book Fair.  It runs for a few weeks, six times a year.  I try to go every time it is open because I always find some amazing deals on great books.  Basically, it is a huge warehouse full of books discounted between 60-90 percent off retail price.  Awesome!

Today, it opened for the first time this year.  My sister and I drove there this morning and got there soon after it opened.  It was so crowded!  Even though it was hard to leisurely peruse the books, I couldn't help but think how great it was to see so many people interested in books.

Here is a list of what I bought today:

American Lion by Jon Meacham
O Pioneers! by Willa Cather
My Ántonia by Willa Cather
The Heart is a Lonely Hunter by Carson McCullers
The World in Six Songs: How the Musical Brain Created Human Nature by Daniel J. Levitin
Jamestown by Matthew Sharpe
Mrs. Dalloway by Virginia Woolf
Cold Sassy Tree by Olive Ann Burns
The Color Purple by Alice Walker
The Collected Stories of Eudora Welty by Eudora Welty
A Midsummer Night's Dream by William Shakespeare
The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry
The American Presidents: Biographies of the Chief Executives, from George Washington through Barack Obama by David C. Whitney
The First Ladies Fact Book: The Childhoods, Courtships, Marriages, Campaigns, Accomplishments, and Legacies of Every First Lady from Martha Washington to Michelle Obama by Bill Harris
The Taste of Home Cookbook
Taste of Home Cookies

I have only read two of these books before: The Little Prince and A Midsummer Night's Dream.  I've read The Little Prince in English and in French.  I also read A Midsummer Night's Dream in high school and loved it.  My 10th grade honors English class actually put on a performance of it and I was the director.  It was a lot of fun.

I got a great deal on the two Taste of Home cookbooks.  I'm looking forward to trying out some of the recipes.  I love cookbooks and am happy to add these to my collection.

As you can see, I was pretty bad today.  I bought a lot of books!  Now my TBR pile is even bigger, but I couldn't just leave them there for such great prices.
